Affiliate Disclosure

Full transparency about how we earn money and how it affects our content.

Last Updated: May 1, 2025

⚡ TL;DR — The Short Version

Some links on this site are affiliate links. If you click one and make a purchase, we may earn a small commission — at no extra cost to you. This never influences our ratings or recommendations. We only recommend products we genuinely believe in.

1. What Is Affiliate Marketing?

Affiliate marketing is a performance-based advertising model where we earn a commission when a reader clicks one of our links and makes a qualifying purchase. The price you pay is identical whether you use our link or navigate directly to the retailer — we simply receive a referral fee from the merchant.

This model allows us to provide free, high-quality content to our readers while sustaining our operations, testing lab, and editorial team.

2. Our Affiliate Relationships

Nexus Affiliate participates in the following affiliate programs, among others:

  • Amazon Associates Program — We earn from qualifying purchases on Amazon.com
  • ShareASale — Connecting us with hundreds of software and tech brands
  • Impact Radius — Enterprise affiliate network for major tech companies
  • CJ Affiliate (Commission Junction) — Large network of consumer electronics brands
  • Direct Brand Programs — Individual affiliate programs with companies like Adobe, Notion, OpenAI, Razer, and others

Commission rates vary by program and product category, typically ranging from 1% to 30% of the sale price. Higher commission rates do not influence our editorial ratings or recommendations.

3. How We Identify Affiliate Links

All affiliate links on our site are identified with one or more of the following indicators:

  • A disclosure notice at the top of articles containing affiliate links
  • Buttons labeled "Get Deal," "Buy Now," or "Check Price" typically contain affiliate tracking
  • Links that redirect through our tracking domain before reaching the merchant

We strive to make affiliate relationships clear and obvious. If you're ever unsure whether a link is an affiliate link, assume it is — we'd rather over-disclose than under-disclose.

4. Our Editorial Independence Policy

This is the most important section of this disclosure. Please read it carefully.

What We Will Never Do

  • Accept payment in exchange for a positive review or higher rating
  • Adjust a product's score based on its commission rate
  • Suppress negative findings to protect a brand relationship
  • Publish a review without disclosing if we received a free product for testing
  • Recommend a product we wouldn't personally use or buy

What We Do

  • Test every reviewed product for a minimum of 30 days
  • Disclose when products were provided free of charge for review
  • Update reviews when products change significantly (firmware updates, price changes, new competitors)
  • Maintain a strict separation between our editorial and business teams
  • Publish negative reviews even when we have an affiliate relationship with the brand

5. Free Products & Press Samples

Brands occasionally send us products for review at no charge. Receiving a free product does not guarantee a positive review, a review at all, or any specific coverage. We clearly disclose when a product was provided for review with a note in the article.

We return or donate products after the review period unless the brand explicitly states we may keep them. Keeping a product does not influence our rating.

6. Sponsored Content

We occasionally publish sponsored content — articles or posts that a brand has paid to have created. All sponsored content is clearly labeled with "Sponsored," "Advertisement," or "Paid Partnership" at the top of the post. Sponsored content is written by our editorial team and must meet our quality standards, but the brand has paid for placement.

Sponsored content is kept strictly separate from our editorial reviews. A brand that sponsors a post does not receive a higher rating in our independent reviews.

7. FTC Compliance

This disclosure is made in accordance with the Federal Trade Commission's guidelines on endorsements and testimonials (16 CFR Part 255). We are committed to full compliance with all applicable FTC regulations regarding affiliate marketing and sponsored content.

If you have questions about our compliance practices, please contact us at legal@nexusaffiliate.com.

8. Price Accuracy

Product prices displayed on our site are accurate at the time of publication but may change without notice. Always verify the current price on the retailer's website before making a purchase. We are not responsible for price discrepancies between our site and the merchant's site.

9. Questions?

If you have any questions about our affiliate relationships, editorial policies, or this disclosure, we'd love to hear from you:
